Our dogs love lying on their Kuranda beds.  They keep them off of cold drafty floors during the winter and provides excellent ventilation in the hot summer months.

 

Though they benefit greatly from Kuranda beds, we don't have enough for everyone.  If you would like to donate a bed at a special wholesale price so another rescue dog can sleep in comfort, you can do so directly from the Kuranda web site.

Often we get in Rottweilers with tails.  These are not mixes, they are pure bred Rottweilers.  The only difference is that their tail was not docked at an early age - they are ALL Rottweiler (including their wonderful tail). They are not less deserving, or in any way not as wonderful as the other Rotties in the world. They have wonderful personalities, but often are not wanted because 'they have a tail'.  Rottweilers are RARELY born without a tail, their tails are usually docked at 2-5 days old, after this time the bones become stronger and the nerves form.  Docking a dogs tail later in life, or even as a six month old puppy is an amputation.  Often people proudly mention they have a 'German' Rottweiler or 'German Style' Rottweiler, there are no differences in the breed standard between German and the United States (see our German vs American page)  EXCEPT German Rottweilers now have TAILS.  Yes, these wonderful dogs all have tails in Germany, they are no longer allowed to dock the tail. So our wonderful tailed rescues are 'German Style' Rottweilers in every sense of the word. You can even ILP a Rottweiler with a tail and compete in numerous AKC activities. (ILP@akc.org) You can have a REGISTERED Rottweiler with a TAIL. Tails on Rottweilers just give you more to love.  I have a rescued rottweiler with a tail, she carries it down for the most part - she does not clear tables, bang doorways or knock my kids over.  She does carry it up when she alerts on something in the yard, like a flag to let me know she has spotted something.  Every time she goes to town with me she gives me the opportunity to educate people on what a wonderful breed Rottweilers are.  Please consider our dogs with tails, on average they spend 4x as long or longer without a forever home JUST because they have a tail.
